
Qatar Charity is a non-governmental organization, founded in 1992 for the development of the Qatari society and other needy communities. It works in the fields of sustainable development, reducing poverty, and disaster relief and emergency response. QC endeavors to serve all needy people and communities regardless of their color, sex, religion, race or nationality. It has been in a consultative status with the UN ECOSOC since 1997. It is also a member of the General Founding Conference of the Arab Network for NGOs in Cairo since 1999.
Since inception, QC passed through important milestones that can be summarized as follows: stage of evolution, stage of expansion and proliferation, stage of review and evaluation, and the stage of rationalization and redeployment.

Our Values:
QC adheres to a system of values that govern its work as an institution providing services and regulate its relations with various partners, including beneficiaries, and controlling the behavior, trends and action of all employees to contribute to achieve the mission and realize the vision.
These values and principles are derived from Islam and in consistency with all international and humanitarian fundamental standards. QC has signed on the Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in Disaster Relief and it saves no effort to follow SPHERE Minimum Standards in Disaster Response.

Humanity:
QC provides its services with the only consideration of humanity where any beneficiary is handled as a human being and his/ her basic needs must be met in order to preserve his/ her dignity.
Non-discrimination:
QC does not adopt any racial, religious or gender discrimination while providing services to beneficiaries. Impartiality:
QC is dealing with beneficiary groups and individuals in absolute neutrality and impartiality both in actions and attitudes. It does not involve in favor of any party at the expense of another in any conflict. It also does not interfere with an alignment attitude to any party in controversial issues whether ideological, political, religious, racial or other.
Independency:
QC is not under influence of any other party, thus it works towards achieving the declared humanitarian objectives, while is ready to cooperate with any other party that respects its principles and values and working together to achieve its goals.
Professionalism:
QC adheres to the agreed-upon humanitarian work standards. It constantly strives to develop the capacities to justify and respect the professional standards in its area of intervention.
Cooperation:
QC adopted cooperation as one of its essential values due to its settled conviction that cooperation is the only way for rapprochement between peoples, conflict resolution, and addressing the challenges of underdevelopment. QC accordingly cooperates with all parties concerned in its areas of interest and according to principles of mutual trust, transparency, participation and respect.
