Housing units distributed by Qatar Charity in April 2010 improved the lives of 1000 families , whose houses were damaged or destroyed by floods. Now these families can gather under one roof to enjoy warmth, security and safety.

These housing units represent the second relief phase (Early Recovery) of the "Temporary Shelter Project", which aims to build 4000 units for the relief of flood victims in Pakistan.

The beneficiaries’ stories show some of Qatar Charity's  achievements.

Sharifa May Family: housing and a small cart

Ms. Sharifa May, from "Kupang sid" village in Rajnbur governorate, said: "I hope you can continue to support us for a period of time, because we saw many other organizations, which initiate actions but don’t finish them quickly for reasons unknown to us." Ms. Sharifa May is 61 years old, and now lives with her son and four grandchildren. Her son, who is the sole provider for his family, works in a sewing business in the village, which provides him with a limited income that doesn’t exceed $35 a month. Her husband and the rest of her family died in the recent floods and their modest house was destroyed."Qatar Charity provided help through building a temporary shelter for the family and providing the son with a small two-wheeled "Rickshaw" cart to help him improve his income.
